One of my favorite places to do it is along my spine and not necessarily to relive muscle tension and soreness, but for its ability to decompress the nervous system! Reducing anxiety is something we can all strive for and this quick and easy application has shown major benefits. Moreover, some studies have shown that foam rolling reduces cortisol levels, known as the "stress hormone". When cortisol levels are elevated we are in flight or flight with symptoms associated such as high π ±οΈlood pressure, increased muscle tension and cessation of the digestive system. So the thought is between that time you should wake up and take your first breath, meditation or engage in breath work. One way I like to execute my meditation is Vajrasana on toes, or commonly known as broken toe pose. This posture strengthens the ankle joint as well as stretching the bottom of the feet, which most people are so badly in need π¦Άπ» If you have plantar fasciitis or just tight feet in general, I highly advise this posture! It will be difficult at first, but in using your breath as a tool and calm mind, overtime you will receive the benefits and change for putting in the work!

We already known my love and passion for inverting but these straps make it easy to decompress the spine with a free hang. Decompression of the spine is super important because constantly we are right side with bones of our spine stacked on one another. Fusion of spinal disks is a very common affliction and this is the recipe to combat that. With a free hang, you allow gravity to do the work and have the ability to breathe space in between each vertebrae.

It is highly beneficial in removing stagnation deriving from pain, promoting the free flow of qi and fluids as well as induces a warming function. Cupping session last approximately 10-20 minutes dependent upon the client and the bodies' reaction and tolerance. If you're hips tend to get tight like mine whether from excessive use in fitness or long periods of sitting, foam rolling aids in eliminating tension and, to homage the term, rolling out the muscles and tendons of the entire pelvic cavity. Best practice is to go long and slowwwwwww. In areas were there is extra tightness or tension, take a moment to pause and hold. Allow gravity to do the work and sink in to the arch of the foam roller. I promise, with pain comes progress, use your breath as a tool and breath. So many benefits from foam rolling.
